25 Things To Reflect On Turning 25

25 Things To Reflect On Turning 25

This Capricorn baby is turning the big two five at the end of this month! Definitely an important milestone birthday for the books. WOW I really can’t believe it, I mean my early 20s went by SO fast! And you know what? I’m pretty glad they’re over. I think we can all look back and cringe at how naive or ridiculous we were lol anyways this is my guide to turning 25. And this time next year I’ll probably look back, laugh and say “girl you had no idea”. But let’s go!!

1. Drink Your Water

Pretend everyday is a water chugging contest and drink as many cups as you can seriously, remember its good for you skin.

2. Do Your Cardio

Time to really focus on getting our hearts healthy. That means taking at least 2 days out of the week and doing some cardio. OR make sure you’re getting your 10,000 daily steps in. Wait, can I even count to 10,000?

3. Gravity Does Exist

Yep no more skipping weights in the gym . If you don’t want to sag then pick up the kettle bell.

4. Calorie Counting

No one enjoys counting calories but as we get older our metabolism slows down significantly. So better that we keep track and under the 2,000 range.

5. Stick To Red Wine

Did you know the average bottle of white wine has around 20 grams of carbs?! Didn’t really matter til now. Better to stick with red which also puts you at a lower risk of heart disease.

6. Discovering A True Hangover

I never had hangovers when I was younger. But I’m slowly starting to pay for the liquor mixing the next day.

7. Saving For Retirement

I think everyone’s goal is to retire early. Well you’re half way to 50 now so better stop tapping into that savings account every time you want to “splurge just a bit”.

8. Enjoy Your Alone Time

So many people are afraid of being alone. It’s an immature characteristic and it’s time to shake it off! Enjoy and embrace being alone. In the near future you’ll have kids and WISH you had some alone time.

9. Solo Trip

As you grow older your friends/family aren’t always around or free to accompany you to go places. Why should that stop you? Whether it’s a short drive to the beach or a flight away I encourage everyone to venture out alone at least once. You may even discover something new about yourself.

10. Home Body

Suddenly Uber Eats and Netflix seem way more appetizing than a night out at the club.

11. Meditation

Stress and anxiety are really prone to people in their 20’s. Meditation is something you can involve in your daily life that can help clear these emotions in your mind. As you find out when you get older, mental health is very important.

12. Relocating

Wherever you are on your path in life, it’s very critical that you think long and hard about where you want to live and settle down for a bit. Don’t consider where everyone else is moving, where your parents are, or where is cheapest. Think about where you really want to get yourself established and go!

13. Night Time Skin Routine

No more “oops I fell asleep with my makeup on” or ” I’m a man and that’s too girly”. Whichever gender you are, we all want to look young for as long as possible. Time to invest in a good facial moisturizer/eye cream or else you’ll be dropping $$ on botox soon.

14. SPF Everything

If you go outside at all you should be wearing sunscreen especially on the face. Ladies better make sure the foundation AND moisturizer have some sort of SPF protection.

15. Letting Go

If you have regrets from the past it’s time to realize you actually were really young when they happened and there’s no point in still grieving over them. Everything happens for a reason. Time to let go.

16. Your Circle Will Change

In most cases people aren’t the same person they were when they were 17. Your hobbies and interest grow different from your friends and you constantly evolve and grow. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself drifting apart from certain friendships and making new adult ones.

17. Don’t Be A Brat

You’re a REAL adult now. You no longer get by with bratty ways. If you’re not polite and act like a brat it’s now considered being a rude jerk. And never cute.

18. Dating More Serious

If you’re not dating that’s totally fine, no rush. If you are dating then it’s time to start dating serious meaning no more “fuck boys”. Time to raise your standards and demand more from a partner.

19. Being A Bookworm Is Necessary

Most of us aren’t in school anymore at 25 which means our brains are not being frequently challenged as they should. Especially with new technology and automatic spell check. To keep our brains excelling and to keep learning we need to visit more book stores and read at least 1-2 novels per month. Podcasts are fun too. PS reading is always sexy!

20. Trial And Error

Even though we are fully adults (at least that’s what the DMV thinks now) we are also still trying to figure life out. We still have mistakes to make and lessons to learn from.

21. Starting A Family

25 is the official age where it is no longer strange or frowned upon to get married or have children. BUT as were still young we need to be careful on choosing a life long partner. Remember you are only a quarter through life and our tastes are going to change.

22. News And Politics

I’ve never really watched the morning news after moving out of my parents home but at 25 it’s pretty important to start, even when it can be boring/depressing. Politics are something we need to pay more attention to as well cause I mean, we’re all voting now right?

23. Never Stop Dreaming

We’ve all heard the cheesy quote “you’re never too old to start a new dream” but it’s true! By 25 we’ve accomplished goals we set when we were younger but it doesn’t stop here. Goals and dreams never stop coming.

23. No More Blame Game

Sorry but it’s time to take accountability for your actions. No more excuses or blaming other people.

24. Making A Name For Yourself

Time to put the pressure on and make a name for yourself and what you stand for in the world. Getting serious and focusing on who you really want to be.

25. Removing Toxins

This is a very important one! What ever negative person, habit or thoughts you have in your life is controlled by you. Only you have the power to cut it out of your life and join the road of positivity. Misery loves its company and you do not need to be the company.

This sums it up. I hope you enjoyed this post and can take some of this information to good use. Please warn me if there’s anything else I can add to this list:) Thanks for reading!

    Nice list!

Water is the greatest discovery I’ve made in adulthood. Sounds obvious but I used to have the worst hangovers. Mix in drinking water for every two alcoholic beverages and you’re good to go. Plus, I keep upping my water intake daily. I’m up to 66 ounces on most days. It’s a great habit.

    Thanks!

I use to just drink it for hangovers but since finding out about skin care etc I’m all about water and especially coconut water lol
