As an esthetician, I’m forever obsessed with diving into the fountain of youth and expanding my skincare regimen. After hearing that the Clear + Brilliant laser was a part of the Fraxel family, yet had no real downtime I decided to give this laser a try. Personally, I was looking for something to help with my skin tone (redness), pore size and to reverse any sun damage I may have.
Clear + Brilliant Benefits
- Skin complexion
- Texture
- Fine lines
- Sun damage
- Acne scars
- Melasma
- Pore size
- Skin elasticity
- Radiance
- Builds collagen
Who Is A Good Candidate?
Basically, anyone who wants to fix some of the skin imperfections listed above. Seriously this treatment is so good for anyone who can’t squeeze the long downtime into their schedule. Clear + Brilliant is also for the patient people. Depending on skin goals/current skin state you may need anywhere from 3-6 treatments to see maximum results since this is a minimally invasive laser and the results are gradual.
How Clear + Brilliant Works
This resurfacing laser creates heat-induced micro-injuries to the epidermis to force cell turnover causing new collagen growth.
What To Expect
Going into your appointment you will be numbed for 20 minutes so the treatment is painless. The entire process from start to finish was about an hour for me as I include all three areas, face/neck/chest. A strong heat sensation is felt on your skin during treatment and for a short period after ( about 20min). The treated skin will stay red for the first 12 hours. The next day your skin will feel tight and dry. Day 2-6 the clear and brilliant leaves an almost sandpaper feel to the skin. I like to use gentle skincare items at home mixed with a thin layer of Aquaphor to keep moisturized and avoid any peeling or flaking that may occur. It’s very important to use spf and try to limit sun exposure during this week.
My Review
I have completed 3 sessions spaced out at 4 weeks apart so far and am happy with the gradual changes and major glow. My complexion looks more even and my pores seem to have shrunk. I enjoyed adding this treatment to my regimen. The total cost where I live in Las Vegas was $250 per treatment session. Compared to the cost of a monthly hydra facial for example, I feel like this is a great deal. I will be taking a laser break as summer is approaching.
